SMS and SQL reinstall

In my test lab I had the evaluation versions of SMS2003 and SQL2000 running and everything worked fine. My evaluations were running out and since I couldn't upgrade either to the Gold version I removed and uninstalled after backing up all the SQL databases. My question is should I manually uninstall the clients or restore the databases? All the clients currently show assigned but the clients are not installed.

Are there any white papers for this scenario?

For those who would like to know I just uninstalled and reinstalled SQL and SMS with the same settings then resored the SMS database. Everything seems fine, all my clients are discovered and installed.
