Oh great SMS gurus, please hear my call! I recently replaced an Alpha server with an Intel machine (NT4 sp 6a). I gave the Intel the same name as the Alpha to avoid application problems. Through normal user logons (smsls), the SMS client (1.2) was installed on the Intel. The problem is, the ALPHA client was installed instead of the Intel. Now I can't remove the Client Inventory and Remote Control services. I can run the Deinstall.bat over and over again and each time it will go through phase 1 but never deinstall after reboot. I tried running cli_nt /R out of both the Alpha.bin and the x86.bin. The Alpha.bin says it's the wrong machine type, the X86.bin says the client isn't installed. How can I get rid of the services?

What were you running on the alpha? VMS, Unix or what?

Alpha machine was running nt4 sp6a as well. Only application was Exchange 5.5. I actually have the same problem on another Alpha that was replaced by an Intel. Same OS, same service pack. Only application on that one was Great Plains.
