SMS 2003

We used to have SMS 2003 running on another server. It was removed from our network. We now have SMS 2003 running on a different server with a different name, site code, etc. The clients are all pointing to the older server and site name. How do I update this? Trying to do it manually at the client is not working.

I think you have to uninstall the clients and reinstall them in the new site. Not too sure though...

Thanks for getting back to me so fast! How do I uninstall clients? I tried to manually new clients, but that didn't work either.

Uninstall SMS 2003 Advanced Clients by running CCMCLEAN.exe that can be downloaded as part of the SMS 2003 toolKit from MS.

Uninstalled the client using ccmclean.exe. When I try to reinstall, I get the message "Unable to locate a Systems Management Server". It seems as though the clients are not seeing the server, and vice versa.

Depending on what mode your using (SMS Advanced Security/normal), you may want to verify that you have your SMS 2003 site and site servers published in Active Directory:

or that you haven't yet set your SMS site boundaries up properly yet...
