Hi,

has someone already SMS on vista clients running without problems?

Friendly regards,
Gerhard

the amount of errors we are reciveing in our are to much to list. Hell no, not yet.

We've pulled a Premier Support request and our SMS group is working with a rep.

we will not allow any vista machines on our network unitl we get this ironed out....

Tom

thank you for your reply. we made some tests here - but just with only one pc. so far we had no problem to advertise programs. only one program made problems - but that was because it doesn't run with vista.

Gerhard

that half of our problems too. We're finding many software bundles that have issues....

Tom

If I recall right MS does not support the use of SMS for Vista at this time. (how dumb is that)

think there was an announcement from MS stating that Vista will be supported only when SMS 2003 SP3 is released. Its in Beta now.

Lost the link, but I think it wouldn't be tough to find.

Cheers

I also recall reading that Vista was not officially supported until SMS 2003 SP3 is released, but cannot recall where I saw that.

I can tell you that SMS 2003 SP2 client does function on Vista. I am not 100% sure to what degree. I can tell you HW/SW inventory and software distribution work.

Not even sure why you would want to use Vista in a development/prodction envrionment at this point, hell it was just released what a week ago?!

hi,

we've it here since november 2006. and we made just some tests. thank you all for the great response! :)

I have been able to get the sms client to install on both x64 and 32bit Vista RTM..

However, only the 32bit installation will allow any of the advertised apps I have, to be run...

The x64 Vista shows the apps, but clicking run says they arent available.

Anyone gotten advertised apps to work in x64 Vista?

Or is this a wait till sp3 type thing.
