W2000 CLIENTS
AD SCHEMA EXTENDED

The W2000 clients appear to be installed, with all components turned on, however they are no updating the sms collection as being installed.

AD has been extended, and my Server is setup as a Management Point.

There are no obvious errors in the log files, clients are being assigned to the site. This had been working, any ideas what could be happening now, and where I could check for any problems.

Hi there, having more or less the same problem

My situation
Extended the AD schema
Site boundries = DEFAULT-FIRST-SITE-NAME, as my client has about 20 different subnets.

The advanced client install's on all of the client machines, auto detects the correct site code, and all of the agents are in a "installed" status.

My problem is that the admin console doesn't show the client as installed, but if i do a "All Windows XP Systems" query it shows the correct SMS Assigned site.

What might be the problem, can it be my site boundries still ????????

I'm also unable to open up Remote tools - recieve "Remote control agent not found"

Any help will be appreciated....

Still have the problem. When I check in the control panel all the components are enabled, and I can remote control into the particulat PCs. However they are still showing up as having the client not installed.

In my Control Panel the items shows as installed - must they show enabled. I'm using the Advanced client.

Tracy, are you able to do any software distribution to your clients......

Didn't try any software distribution, but pretty sure that will work as the remote client does.

weird thing is that 600 other computers worked, the only ones that didn't are about 50. I am using subnets to mark my boundaries, but the majority of the computers are all in the same subnet, including these 50. Installed the client to them using the push method. I might try to manually install the client and see what happens.
