Smpl prblm, How to open an intranet stored XL file

Hi all,

I'm quite new to asp so sorry for the simplicity but i know u'll all be happy to help ;-)

I have writen a script which returns the location of a file stored on a file on a server (eg "\\bear\sdrive\mySheet.xls&quot.

Now i need to this file to be automatically opened in XL. Any suggestions?

Hi Again,

It seems there is no way to doing this! This cannot be true? I can think that one can redirect the user to another web page automatically, but the normal method (response.redirect) doesn't work. Perhaps someone has a better suggestion?
