Hello,
In AIX 5.1 when I use smit and sometimes I don't see the F6 keys... So I don't read the associated command... Why?
Thinks.

For example when I would break an Etherchannel...

Try Esc+6

"Whenever I dwell for any length of time on my own shortcomings, they gradually begin to seem mild, harmless, rather engaging little things, not at all like the staring defects in other people's characters."

That is because of the way that smit dialog is written. You choose to remove an etherchannel virtual ethernet adapter. Smit shows you in a popup box all the etherchannel devices that are defined. You choose which one and press enter. Smit asks you again - are you sure? So you press enter again. Then that device is removed. In the command status panel that is then shown there IS the possibility to view (F6) the command that has just been run...

Granted, on other smit dialogs you can view (F6 or esc-6) a command BEFORE it is run, not AFTER. But a remove device command will always be [red]"rmdev -d -l devicename"[/red] anyway.
