Smileys :-) in chat conversation screen

i developed a local (LAN) chat software..

currently i m rich text control for conversation screen.
is there any posibility for smileys in conversation screen..


can any body help me for this..

It is not quite clear waht you are aiming for. Are you developping in VFP? and when do you want wahtever icon/bitmap/jpg so show in your form?
Please be more specific.

thanx for reply ..

i developed this application in vfp 7 and before rich text control i was using edit box for the conversation screen...

but rich text control helps me in user define color scheme fonts etc..

if any other control that supports smileys [ :-( ] .
i m using that control instead of rich text control on my form

Let's get this clear. When you talk about "smileys", you mean those small graphic images, like the ones you inserted into your question. Is that right?

If so, the RTF control treats these just like any other image. You would first need to create the image (using an image editing utility), then provide the means for your user to insert them into the RTF stream. You could do that with a button, a right-click action, or a hotkey, according to your tastes.

In short, the problem has got nothing to do with smileys as such.

like yahoo or msn messanger .. or any other utility that helps me to create or define that emoticons ..

Yes. It treats them just like any other image (which is exactly what I said in my previous answer).

So, are you now asking how to create the emoticons?

If so, then no ... RTF can't help you do that. RTF is a file format, not an application. To create a graphics image, you need a graphic editor, like MS Paint.
