SMGR reboot with geo redundancy

Its been some time since I rebooted my SMGR. I looked in my notes and don't have anything about disabling geo redundancy prior. So the question is this, do you disable geo redundancy before rebooting SMGR or do you just reboot each server 1 at a time and re-enable geo-redundancy once both servers are back up? Or maybe you have another process?

Since there is no automatic failover for SM, you do not have to disable geo before restarting either SM or SM-Geo. Be mindful that any application getting its license from SM will go into license error mode while SM is down. It usually takes ~15-20 min to fully restart.
