How can i modify the SMGR host file?
i have only the admin password set during the deployment process, but is different from the root.
the SMGR web password is not working with the CLI.
i can log in with the admin user to the CLI, but root password required to modify the host file.

any ideas?

thanks in advance.

there's some aliased commands

editHosts

I think it's something like editHosts -A "1.2.3.4 shorthostname.domain.com shorthostname" or something to that effect.

Did they make an A switch for edithosts? I always had to copy the current hosts file entries and add my entry to the end.

I believe in the latest verions - 7.1.0 or 7.1.3 that yes, they made it less stupid so entering 1 entry doesn`t nuke your hosts file and replace it with the 1 entry.

The new way is editHosts -A to add, -D to delete, maybe -E or -C to edit or change and in doublequotes you put IP,FQDN,shorthostname or something

Thanky you kyle555!
The editHosts "-A IP FQDN hostname" syntax works!
other switches:
- R replace an entry
- D delete an entry
