SMGR & Session Manager Servers

WE are applying our internal CA certificates to the VMware AVP platforms on our HA SMGR and SM servers running 7.1.3. I know how to apply the cert and reboot the VMs from the VMware but I am not sure correct shutdown procedures for SM and SMGR servers running geo-redundancy.
