I was in inventory/managed elements and was on the SMGR. When I went into identity certs I see they are set to expire in Feb of 2021. Will those auto renew or something has to be done? We have not altered those and they should be what was out of the box.

You can renew from the inventory. I believe 7.1 has SMGR auto-renew it's identity cert for web services. I believe they auto-renew as of 7.1 on, not sure about 7.0.

Hi Kyle,
Can you please help from which TAB/Menu i can set auto-renew so that i dont have to regenerate certificates manually after expiration. I t is SMGR 8.1.
I tried to find the auto renew option but could not found.

7.0 needs the CertificateRenewal_v2.bin. 7.1 does that for you but you might need to restart jboss, or reboot the server.

Can you please help where to find the auto-renew option of certificates in SMGR??

By head:

Login to SMGR and click on Inventory (right column) Select the Entity you desire, for example Session Manager, and select Identity certificates. Now you see the certificates used for that entity. Click on it to get more information. You can press the renewal button and the date changes.

So these certs auto renewed but it says I need to restart SMGR. From the CLI under admin can I run SMGR stop / SMGR start? What’s the way to restart ?

reboot the VM. restarting jboss will break it until you reboot.

Yeah. The way it starts is someone calls you and says "I logged into SMGR today and it had a banner on top to restart services to pickup the new cert".

And then you relalize just restarting JBoss doesn't make it take, so yeah, rebootVM

Since you guys are on this topic, is there a singular resource which will give a novice a very good overview on the whole process of certs in the Avaya world? Any great PDF's or videos?

I feel like this is the most cryptic concept in all of Avaya.

Starting out on TDM, this stuff is like studying Latin for me.

This forum got me through so many of those hurdles. There are some sharp folks on here that are super helpful.
