I have been installing phone systems for some time but I've never had to hook up a printer or a computer to do smdr for call records.
This is for a KX-DT1232.I know I need a rs232 cable to do this. Is it easier to do it with just a printer connected? I have looked it up in the programming manual and I don't find how it works. Does it print out automatic after each call? The display says the connecting cable should not be longer than 6ft. Is there any variation from that. I probably will have more questions so if you can guide me on this

Hi,

Yes, the PBX will output/print a record after each call. I suppose that it is easier to connect the PBX to a computer, otherwise you need an rare RS232 printer.
