I am trying to find a way to fool or manipulate the SMDR data created by the IPO. Here's the application:

Company has advertised numbers all over the country. They need to be able to track the numbers that callers dialed in turn allowing them to track the advertising. The call accounting app that we are using interprets the raw SMDR data.
I can setup a hunt group for each DID and name it a sepecific market like "San Francisco". That does no good because neither the name nor the hunt group extension number is presented in the raw SMDR.
I tried to send the DID to a virtual extension and forward that extension to a hunt group thinking this would fool the SMDR to thinking the call was for the virtual extension and that would allow me to name the virtual extension accordingly. That doesnt work because the SMDR reports the extension that answers the call as the destination of the call.

Any ideas??

SMDR cannot do it.

All i can suggest is that you look at VMPRO database integration to store CLI/names etc.

Point each of your national numbers to a different DDI used solely for that purpose and track those ddi numbers instead.

Alternatively you could if you had a large vm and fancied doing a rake load of programing you could route the call by area code, san fran area code would route to one call flow, NY to another, and then use CCC to report on those call flows.

You would point the incoming call to a call flow and then using a condition that has a compare action you could compare value A $CLI matches value B 0151XXXXXXX which would return a true or false value based on if the area code was matched and routed to a seperate callfow for that area. The X's are wildcards.

Does that make sense?

It may be a bit long winded however because you would have to set up conditions for ALL area codes.

How do you suggest we track the DDI number? I did not see the DDI information in the SMDR data. or did i overlook it?

Called Number = For incoming external calls that will be the DDI dialled by the caller (if available, ie. passed to the IP Office by the CO).

ahh I see said the blind man!

it was only showing the last 3 digits since that is what is being presented to by the CO.
That might do the trick. I will check it out and report back later

Ok, finally got it to do what we needed by switching from CDR to Delta Server. There is alot more info in the raw data that comes from DS
