We have used AVAYA's DB9 to RJ45 connector to print log of calls from our Merlin Legend SMDR port to Hyperterminal via PCs COM port. We have rewired the connector for another application and do not have original pin - wire diagram...
What settings on the Hyperterminal are compatible with this feature?

You can make your own 9 pin connector like so:

RJ45 (9Pin Female)
1 9
2 8,6,1
3 4
4 5
5 2
6 3

Or you can order the following from Avaya:

You need a 355AF RJ45 to DB24 Female adapter and
a DB25M to DB9F adapter. You can buy these from Radio Shack or elsewhere. I chose to buy the connectors for my Merlin Legends so I didn't have to get out the soldering iron for pins 8,6,1.

There is a PDF that gives much more info on this topic.
If you would like I can email it to you.
