We have a call accounting system which is used to bill different cost centers and reasearch questionable usage on the pbx.this systems limitation is set by the amount data my pbx will send(via smdr port). Were can I find info on manuplating this ports settings?
no i have had a switch that collected int and ext for 6000 users and dumped it to a single port, at 19.2 with i line per call, you don't flood that port. your switch has a 100k buffer, which i don't think can be modified. in years past we sometimes added a mem buffer external, but not dumping that port to a pc. the only problem i have seen with internal records is file size. i use a procomm script to stop and start the file, on a timer to keep the file size below 10 meg. just eaiser to work with.
the system currently allows for reports on dialed #,duration and incomming calls and trunks. it also throws out pricing but we dont use it like that. Im intrested in knowing how many calls come into the switchboard and where they transfer calls to.currently an incomming call transfrered call from th sb shows as a direct call to that station. The call acct. vendor says that my pbx is not sending info on xfrd calls.will it?How?
alt tn is the key word, check the cdr prompts in ld 22, prt cdr, with alt on you get the alternate tn, ie, the transfered to tn. i can't think of a traffic report that shows that.. but your request is common, no one wants cdr to stop at the att.. if i was at work i would find that prompt and post it for you
In the basic scenario a direct call to the station will show as a N(ormal) record. For a call that has been transferred via the operator, the operator record will show as a S(tart) record and the station record as an E(nd) record. Your call accounting software should be able to mark E records as having been transferred.
DDI calls and operator calls will be on different routes so you should be able to tell how many calls are being received directly and how many calls are being transferred via the operator to a particulat station.
it gets better......not sure exactly which tty port is for call acct system....i believe its tty 7 but i see no baud rate?
