I have a customer using a call accounting program (eCAS) that will stop reporting once the system has exceeded its licensing. They changed their extensions when we installed the IP Office but people keep dialing the old extensions from the Auto Attendant. I set up a short code and module in VM Pro that I found on here to let the caller hear the invalid ext wav and then transfer back to the Auto Attendant. The problem I am having is that the IP Office is building a call record for each one of these extensions because it is transferring to that ext, playing a message (connecting), and then transferring out again (completing the call). The call accounting system then reports on the invalid extension and this is causing it to exceed its license limitations. Any ideas other than taking out the invalid extension module or having them buy more licenses?

I'll tell you what I did to work around that particular problem.

Everyday I would remove the old three digit extentions from ECAS. And everyday there would be less and less of them because the callers learned to add the fourth digit. After a couple of weeks the problem was solved.

Not much help, but it was the most simple thing I could think of at the time.

You could also try this:

First way:
On the Main Menu, you have 3??, if it is entered, then do a GOTO another main menu to grab those three digits and ask for the fourth.

That way, you are not leaving the VMPro until all digits are entered.

Second way:

Main Menu: 3?? GOTO Main Menu that says "Extensions are now 4 digits, please enter the 4 digit extension now." Then transfer to the extension.

If this doesn't make sense, I can post up a screen shot of what I am talking about. (If I get one done here soon, I will post it.)
