I have a newly installed RH ES 2.1 server and am configuring Samba. I was able to add one user, using the smbpasswd -a option. However when I try to add another user I get the following error "bash: ./smbpasswd: Permission denied" I am loggen in as root. I have opened up the permissions to 777. Any suggestions?

I get the following error: #./smbpasswd: jason:500:6999E3AD84F16BA560C31F0B75D2C845:D4EBB6F8B3B716D9D4B1F539
7F588B7C:[U: command not found

Jason was the first, and last user that I was able to add.

Thanks.

umm....you don't execute the actual smbpasswd file...
you execute the smbpasswd program..

typically in /usr/bin
or /usr/local/bin or /usr/local/samba/bin
