SmartStart 6 to be Unix based?

I was speaking to a Compaq engineer who told me that SmartStart 6 is to be based on Unix rather than Windows? Anyone else heard this?

Apparently, for every SmartStart CD that Compaq send out, they have to give Microsoft $5 for the privilege. So HP have decided to knock this on the head and develop SmartStart based on Unix??

SmartStart 6.0 and beyond is Linux based, not Unix based.
