Howdy,
I'm doing a fresh install of SCO 5.0.7 on an HP ML570G2 and have the 641 controller set as my default boot device, however I need the BTLD string to get SCO to see the controller anyone have an idea?
Hi Nuke! This is my recent experience about Proliant ... !
I've just installed a prolian ml530g2, with a 6402 smartarray controller and sco 5.0.6.
So ... into HP site, go into this link
In this page there are some drvs for sco openserver.
So step1 is download the "Extended Feature Support" and create the floppy disks (are 5). 5.62a version is ok ... I've just used into my proliant!
2nd step is: insert you're smartarray into proliant, and attach you're scsi cables into this controller (by default you're scsi hd cables are attached into the scsi controller into motherboard). Follow the numbers: 1 = blue 2 = yellow ... attach the cable 1 in the left, 2 in the right (look the smartarray on the cable attach side)
3rd step: into you're bios, at the boot parameters, tell to proliant to use the smartarray.
4rd step: boot usin' sco cd (or floppy)
5rd: at the sco prompt write ciss <return>
I think this is the driver you must to use
during the installation sco ask you the drivers about the controller ... insert at this point the floppy number one of the efs, and proceed with teh installation.
Ah! In the floppy number 4 there's the readme file. Read first!
Sorry 4 my english buy I think U understand all the same!
Ciao!

Tadan,
Thanks for the reply. I had all the software and logical drives created. I tried the ciss @ the boot prompt but got an error, if I remember it needs more info. I have a support call into HP I don't know if they will ever call back.
Hi Nuke1
Read Carefully the file Readme in th 5th disk of the EFS!
HP customare care call 100%, but in this case doesen't have the experience to give a valid solutin ... !
Mh .. listen! Try this road ...
... go into hp website at this address
Well I got it. Thanks for making me read the documents. I found the answer on disk 5. I don't like reading but it always pays off. Here is the line I used @ Boot:
restart link = ciss
It tells you that if you need to link multiple BTLD just add each one inside a set of quotes
