I have a Small Office I just installed with the embedded VM card. The customer would like incoming calls to ring the receptionist phone (ext 205) 3 or 4 times and if busy or no answer go to the Auto Attendant. I cannot see how to send it back to AA. It is not an option for overflow or routing that I can see. I would be open to any solutions that don't require the customer to buy VM Pro. The sales person has already made them mad enough that spending more money isn't really an option. Thank you in advance.

Little know trick but you can use the RecordGreeting shortcode feature to create short code for accessing the auto-attendant.

Create a short code called AA:<attendant service name> (replace the bit in < > brackets with you auto attendant service's name) and the Feature set to Record Greeting.

The above I actually tested today as a method for users to transfer callers to the auto attendant.

?How does that help you.

This I haven't tried but worth a go, create the short code and then use it as the Fallback destination in the incoming call route, that should cover cases where the operator is busy. Could also try setting it as the operators forward on busy/no answer number.

Gee, that happens? *grin*

Thank you sizbut. That worked well. I put it in the fallback, so if she is on the phone it goes to AA. Also, I put a DND button on her phone, so if she leaves for lunch or something, it will go immediately to AA. And yes, Morrack, I too was surprised. (please note last sentence dripping in sarcasm). LOL. Thanks again guys, this forum is great.

Glad to be of service.

Thanks to yourself also for coming back to confirm whether it worked or not, not everyone remembers to do that, it helps the forum also.
