All,

My company has an IP Office 412 here in the states, we are setting up a smaller office in Mexico and want to put a Small Office in. The problem I am having is verifying that the Small Office supports the USE of an E1 Card. I have gone through three vendors who just scratch their heads and stare at me like I have two noses.

I was under the impression that the Avaya product is a British export, and that england uses the same E1 format as Mexico.

Any Help, negative or positive would be appreciated.

The E1 card is not supported on a Small Office, only on 403 and up.

Thanks a Million, My primary vendor has had a ticket open with Avaya UK for 2 days now and they could not confirm that for me.

I really appreciate it.

The instal wizard for V3.0 will alow me to select an E1 card for the SOE.

This is either a bug in the Wizard or a failure to update the documentation.

Does any one have a coin to toss?

Sure it does support E1 - if you look at the back of the SOE, the plastic can be broken in different ways - to either populate a Quad BRI card or a E1 card.

All the documentation states either Quad BRI or PRI Card

The E1 card is not mentioned in the product description for the SOE. Anything not mentioned will not work and if it does work then Avaya will not support you in case of trouble.

You can use either a T1 PRI or Quad BRI or a WAN X21/V24/V35 on a SOE.
