SMALL OFFICE 4.2 FLASH HOOK ON ANALOG PHONE MALFUNCTION

Hi,

Here is my problem. I recently upgrade some small offices from 3.2 to 4.2 but discovered that hook flash malfunctions.
On 3.2 i created short code *=hook flash and it and it flashes the trunk line in a call waiting scenario. On 4.2 it puts the external caller on hold and the extension gets 2 beeps when normally that would have been a stuttered dial tone. I have made some adjustments to the widths but its still the same. Please help as now i can no longer access my external call waiting.

I think that this is designed behaviour.

from version 4.2, IP office supports Centrex transfers, so the HookFlash feature flashes the line and returns dialtone(?)

Do you have anything set in the number field of the shortcode

i.e
SC - **
TN - <blank>
Feature - FlashHook

Hi Matt,

A little more info. The feature works well on my ip phones and digital phones. The sequence of dialing I used on with an analog phone on 3.2 was (flash *) and it worked well then. but from the upgrade it placed the external caller on hold and all i get is beep beep as if its asking for an auth or account code.

Have you tried to change your SC to something else then a * ?
Becasue I think that it has a conflict with the new DISA - Mobile Call Control in 4.2

I know that DISA is not supported on a Small Office, but it is still 4.2

I have tried 8 for the short code and still the same behavior. I have downgrade to 4.1 and it was the same. I then downgraded to 4.0 and the problem was solved. I need to know if there is a fix on 4.2 for this problem. Thanks in advance.
