I'm trying to install Small Business Server 2000 on a W2K Server, but the SBS assistant does not allow me to advance because he does not detect the configuration of the network card. The NIC is installed properly, although it isn't plugged to net. May be this one the problem?

This may sound a stupid question but are using a static IP for your network card.

Is it not detecting the card or the config from the card? What kind of card is it? Is it on the Win2k compatibility list?

W2K pro as well as server has a feature which deactivates the NIC when it isn't connected to a networkcomponent (Switch, HUB, etc).

So the solution to your problem is to connect your NIC to a network. You can always change the IP to a different subnet.
