Hi all,

I have Nagios ( installed on one of my Linux boxes so that I can keep track of the different systems on my network, but the Linux machine in question doesn't have a web server configured. Given the fact that the status reports from Nagios are the only things that will be published, it seems to me that Apache would be massive overkill for this.

Can anyone recommend a lightweight, reliable, and (hopefully) easy-to-configure web server?

Many thanks,

T.

i dont know nagios software, but one possibility is xitami ( i dont know how lightweight/easy it is to configure on linux, but i set it up on a windows machine for awhile and it was very easy. can b configured for php i believe.

Nagios=NetSaint. There were issues with the names so it was changed.

Apache is still a pretty small package. You just have to lock it down a bit more since you're not actually serving pages to the outside world. You might be able to get by with using webmin to configure apache and lock it down as much as possible. J.R. Juiliano

I would go with Apache, regardless of anything. Apache is very customizable and is a good fit for small and large web sites.
