Hey guys. I just found this forum while looking around for POS /Ecommerce solutions for our business. We need a POS system that will integrate with a new website offering easy inventory control, book keeping etc. We are looking at CAMCommerce, Retail Pro, Microsoft RMS, Synchronic and Dell's POS solution. We'll need 5 stations connected to one central database. Cost is an issue but so is flexibilty, ease of use and ability to grow with our business. We'd like a system that integrates with UPS as well. Of the systems listed, which ones have the best reputation to price ratio?

Thanks for your input.

Don't know about the others but Retail Pro would be a no for E-commerce. I guess I'm limited to what I can and should say, but basically, there isn't enough commerce in Ecommerce to get it off the ground unless it's a company that does it for a living. I would suggest not looking at a one solution, but rather the best in ecommerce and the best in POS and see how they can link. I'm sure you'll get better results as long as you don't settle for anything but industry standard and something easy and clear on the link.

I'd have to agree with rpropro, POS and ecomorce are to separate worlds. Ty to find the best of both, then see if the software companies will build you a bridge. On the POS end, look for the best solution that gives you what you need. If you are running network, look for a proven solution that will run even when the network/server is down. Find a solution that can be customized for your operation, then find the right e commerce solution and get teh company to build a bridge.

An integrated solution is often not the answer, bridges are.
