I think this is a DNS issue.

My office is currently on a T1 line. Since last thurs, connecting to a site has become painfully slow, however once on a site, navigation within the site is quick. Also downloading files from is very quick as well (1.54 mbps)

Any thoughts as to the cause of this?

this does sound like a dns issure, find out if your isp has changed primary/secondary DNS servers and make sure they match your configs in your router and on pc's.

Have you tried tracert and ipconfig to see what's going on? It sounds like your name resolution is the problem since once your connected things are fine, so doomhamur is correct again. Good luck.
