Slow response when upgrading from R4 to R5

We are in the process of upgrading our site from R4 to R5, but to our horror the clients were running that slow that they were almost unusable. After some research we found that deleting the Cache.dsk made all the difference. We also considered putting the cache.dsk on the local hard drive (I tested this on my machine, a lot quicker).

Here is the next one, if you notice that you are hitting new memo and waiting for a response you need to compact your workspace. Goto properties on the workspace click second tab and compact. The speed increase is fantastic.
