Let set the stage Everything working fine of cource before I installed the second processor to the sco 506 server. Now the odbc client that we use to connect from a off site location no longer stays connected. The odbc will connect but the process does a run away for about an hour and stops. I removed the supplements prior to the in stall of smp for sco and after the install i reinstalled the supplements and now i have this problem. any direction would be great.

What database software are you running? Have you asked the database software manufacturer whether or not their database is supported on a dual CPU SCO box? I'd be looking at the database for problems. You'll need to be familiar with the database administration to see what is going on inside.

The database is progress the odbc drivers are merant. The database support say that it is a network issue. howeve when i pull a small amount of data thru excel I am able to pull the data but when i go to a larger query is when i get these error messages.
[Merant][odbc progress driver][PROGRESS] error reading scoket, ret=10054, errno=0(778)
this one follows
[Merant][odbc progress driver][PROGRESS]Incomplete write when writing to the server. 735
one more.
[Merant][odbc progress driver][PROGRESS]system error: Open Interface driver protocol erro during dsqldynfetch(2577)
any advice would be great. I am still trying to figure out why I am unable to pull large amounts of data. Thank you all.
