I'm getting a very slow network performance when user's are accessing the database on the network. I'm also experience some slow down on another software from Medisoft which is a calendring software. I'm running 2 Nic Card one is a 10/100/1000 and the other 10/100 both are running at 100mbs. When i reboot the server it looks like it increases performance but then after a while it becomes slow again. There is 32 workstation using all Private IP addresses and all running XP Pro. The server is running dual processors 1.8 intel and 1 Gig of DDR Ram.

Anybody have any idea's

Thanks

Sounds like a Domain name problem. On the server holding the Access data, go to System in the Control Panel and check the computer name. Click change and see if the Domain name is right. If not change the domain to the right Domain. If it works it will say, "Welcome to domain + your domain name". It will prompt you to restart. If you continue to have the same problem it is a domain naming problem. And will occur every time the servers synchronize. You know XP Pro is also a server??

This is how i have things setup on the server.

Server Name exemple: abc
domain name: abcs.com

so full name is abc.abcs.com

would this cause a problem all my server are setup in this fashion but my 2003 is the only one causing me a performance issue. Also for a weird reason i can't access the internet on my server but i can with all other units. Sorry for the slow delay i was on vacation.

Thanks for the input
