Anyone here try doing slow motion, particularly with miniatures?

We need to blow up a helicopter for a shot and we're tempted to use a 1/72 model and actually blow it up (using AE to enhance the explosion), rather than trying to do the whole thing with 3D apps.

We're figuring we can shoot at 60 fps and then tell AE to time warp it to twice as long (30 fps), but never tried that before.

Any tips? Suggestions? Ideas?

Well, we ARE building a model, so if anyone has tips on shooting a model, now would not be a bad time to mention them...

I would shoot 90 if you can. I think the HVX will only go to 60.

One thing to keep in mind is that your particles (explosion pieces) should be AT SCALE too. That's usually the biggest problem.
