Slow menus with compiled application

I work with an application that has been running for like 10 years or more. Lately we have noticed that the menus are slow to appear when clicked on in Windows 2000, and even more so in WindowsXP. However, within FoxPro, those same delays are not noticed. I have set the compatability in WindowsXP to be equal to Windows 95 and have seen a marked difference in how the menus are painted on the screen. Problem is that you cannot do that to a networked application.

Any ideas on how to make this go away, either in FoxPro or the configuration of the application would be appreciated

I have a same problem in Windows XP. Application is write in FOXPRO 2.6 for DOS. Under Windows 98, NT and 2000 is all goot. Under XP is too slow in menu.
