My department recently changed to a different subnet (192.168.1.255 from 192.168.0.255) I changed network information on my RedHat 7.2 linux box by using netconfig. All of my network connections seem to be working correctly, but whenever I try to connect using an Xterm, ftp, ssh, or anything else that uses a net connect, the logon prompt takes anywhere from 30 to 60 seconds where before it used to be instant. Where did I go wrong?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Don

I forgot to mention that I am also running an NIS server on the same subnet.

Well, looks like a connection problem to the NIS or DNS server.
