I just set up a small Windows 2000 lab at our company (all 500 Mhz Dells). 3 Windows 2000 servers and 1 Windows 2000 Professional workstation. All SP1.
On the workstation and on one of the servers, it takes me 10 to 15 minutes to log in (after I enter my ID and password). For half this time it says "Loading your personal settings..." and the other half "Applying your personal settings...". I checked the profiles on both machines and they are set to Local. I assume that when it is loading and applying personal settings it is referring to your user profile. Any ideas why it would take so long to get past this part of the login?
