I'm not sure where to ask this question, and this forum seems to be somewhat related, so here it is:

I'm testing my work using localhost in WIN XP laptop. For some reasons, the page loads soooo slow even with a simple HTML test page I created with a simple content "TESTED". Could someone point out some possible reasons that could cause the slow loading.

Thanks!

I would offer that your hosts file may be the troublemaker. Instead of the common 'localhost' request, change it up to 127.0.0.1. If it seems faster, then there is a bottleneck looking up the translated IP address in your hosts file. May want to even try to ping localhost vs. 127.0.0.1 to see if there is a difference.

Check the host file and make sure that localhost is listed in there. If it isn't... add it.

This is a bit of a shot in the dark, but it's the first thing that springs to mind.
