This is what I have:
Fibre=gigabit Ethernet Gigaswift

When I ftp between 2 gigabit fibre boxes, I get 0.5 MB per sec.
When I ftp between 1 gigabit fibre box and 1 gigabit copper box I get 11MB per sec.

So when the fibre boxes talk to each other they talk at 0.5 MB per via FTP.

Have you experienced this before?

Not really enough information here. Are you connecting the 2 boxes peer to peer or through some type of network. The first thing I would verify is your drivers. You also need to verify the mode and link speed of all boxes you are testing.

Looking at enabling jumbo frames.

You really need to look at what each interface is set to. On the Solaris boxes, you can use ndd commands to see the mode and link speed of your interface.

Is it true that you cannot enable JUMBO FRAMES on an onboard ce interface.

That is, on an onboard 280-R system?
