Hi,

Some users of mine use Dreamweaver, Cute-FTP, WISE-FTP etc.

All of them are reporting that the FTP clients are slow.
(<1000 KB/s)

I did some tests using a passive or an active FTP connection (using those programs) to outside (that LINUX FTP server accepts both of them) in a non rush hour and my users are right. I tried everything : as a secureNAT client, as a firewall client, both of them in the same time, the ftp filter enabled/disabled, the sock enabled/disable, just the cache for that ftp server disabled, all cache disabled etc.

The FTP connection is fast when I dont use ISA SERVER.

If I use the FTP by command prompt it is fast !
(with secureNAT 9000 KB/s,secureNAT and firewall client 6500 KB/s)

The HTTP and any other protocol connection is perfect in any way.

Did someone have this problem ?
Any idea to catch the sinner ?

Best Regards

Racy

I tried isa server 2004 sp1, but the problem with FTP wasnt fixed ....

Is it possible to speed up Isa Server 2004 using a registry key ?

Hi There !

I solved my problem.

When my clients trie to do a ftp upload/download,
the linux ftp server ask for the user id by the protocol 113 tcp (ident - rfc 1413 and

After a short time, then the ftp server tries another way to ask for authentication, that is why my users were complaining about the slow speed.

I had to do this rule:

from: external
to: local host
protocol 113 tcp outbound
all users
