When creating a backup set I go in to the file selection tab. There is one computer on the network that takes forever to come up.

Backup Server: NT 4.0
Computer trying to backup: Win 2000 Pro

I can go Start > Run > \\computername and connection is instant. But if I click the plus sign next to computer in file selection it takes about 5 minutes for computer info to populate.

Any ideas.

Is the Agent Accelerator or Remote Agent installed on the problem machine? The name of the agent depends on the version of Backup Exec you are using. Which version are you using?

Using version 8.6 and yes remote agent is installed on win 2k machine.

When you copy large files to and from that machine, does it seem slower than the others?

- Zoe, that's ZOH-EEE, get it right please
- Just a little ol' MCP at Solien Technology

Back to the top cause I have this exact problem.
Its not only slow browsing the network but you can select a local harddrive and it will take a minute or two to pop it up.
Using BE 8.6 W2K advanced server in a domain of 6000 users
I have 20 servers with this problem. It wasn't there, then it was after an AD rollout.
I know it could be browsing issues but its not trying to browse a local drive!! Sometimes it times out and you have to stop/start the client interface 'not the services' to get it going again.
Most frustrating
