We have a AMD Athlon 1333Mhz Processor, 512MB RAM, Pheonix BIOS v6.0. It's running Win98, it takes about 40 minutes to boot, it doesn't reboot(you have to turn power in back off and on to get PC to Reboot). We have swapped hard-drives, disabled un-necassary devices, changed boot sequence, and nothing helps. It has to be in the Motherboard/BIOS. Have any suggestions.

Have you installed all the latest BIOS and Windows drivers for the motherboard?

Check to make sure, in the BIOS, that you haven't turned any caching on the motherboard off; this can significantly slow things down.

If you're using more than one type or speed of RAM, try removing the slower type and see if that makes a difference.

At the "Starting Windows 98..." prompt, hit F8 and select to turn on boot logging; then post the log here, that might help provide more information on the source of the problem.

wow ... that's have to be a typo 40 minutes to boot ,
or is it 4 minutes .

Post detailed spec about:
Power supply
Motherboard
Cpu
Memory
Video card
Harddisks
Cdroms
Usb devices
Printer devices
Scanner devices
etc..
