I have an Overland loader, which the manufacturer claims can backup 60GB/hour. However, I seem to be getting somewhere between 16-20GB hour. I'm running BE 8.6 on W2K server, using the remote agent to backup one server and the Exchange agent to backup another. Any ideas?

Greetings,

Again their are alot of factors that come into play when backing up servers. Network Speed? Bandwidth avail. at time of backup. Server performance, Other jobs hoggin proccessor etc...

Hard to say. I just take it as a given that you'll never reach the speed the drive says to backup unless your network is Godly with SUPER computers running as your servers.

What is your backup speed MB wise? we get anything from 160MB to other servers backing up at 55MB.

I'm only getting about 16-20GB an hour. The backup device is certified to run at about 60GB an hour uncompressed and 120GB compressed. All my servers are on a gigabit fibre backbone - our backups are run in shutdown hours, and there is nothing else running.....just seems a bit weird to me!
