Slow Backup: BakBone and Qualstar Tape Drive

This is a shot in the dark but here is our issue. The Barcode reader went out on our Qualstar RLS 44 slot library. After replacing it, we started the system back up and for some reason we are only getting 1000k/sec backup performance when before the part replacement we were getting about 50000k/sec to tape. We haven't changed any settings. Would anyone have a guess of what we might check?

- netvault running on a Dell PE 1950
- Qualstar RLS library SCSI connected to a Dell PE 2950 with a dual channel U320 scsi adapter - adaptec aic7902 I believe

we are backing up a large SAN that is on the network...
