Hi all,

I have this problem where I work.
We use Symposium Web Client 4.5.
Only some users/PCs seem to be affected.
When users try to go to Contact center Management, Internet Explorer freezes sometimes for up to 10 minutes and then Contact center Management does comes up eventually.
For these people it will work fine all along and suddenly, one day CCM will start freezing. If we try to close IE, it doesn't let you, it says "Application cannot be closed, if it is being debugged, please resume it or close the debugger first".
Other things like Historical Reporting and Real Time Reporting work fine.
We use NT 4.0 SP6a - IE6 - MDAC 2.6 - Soap - Site added to trusted sites and activeX all enabled - language ok.

I have reinstalled IE, Soap, MDAC, Service packed, checkdisk, you name it!

Any idea?

Your help really appreciated.

Thank you

I just found out that there's a PEP released, SU6. Ask your vendor, as one of the items was the speed difference between 4.0 and 4.5

How big are your partitions? Too many elements (skillsets, agents, users, DNISs, applications etc) (500 is the Nortel recommended limit) can also slow it down, especially if there are many people using it - may explain why it is intermittent.

DD,
Are you saying that's an aggregate limit? I.E. 50 skillsets, 200 agents, 50 users and 200 DNISs?

That's what our vendor told us. When we launched our first web server, we had horrendous problems with the partitions as they hadn't advised the need to do partition design. The problem is exacerbated the more web client users there are, which is why our testing (offline) hadn't shown up any problems!

Fortunately, our corporate structure has a hundred squillion layers, so we were able to create suitably small partitions.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your input guys. I have just spoken with our Telecoms engineer and he told me that the server is up to Norton's recomendation.
Just one point, when Contact Center Mangement starts screwing up on a computer, it will always do untill the computer is rebuilt, no matter how many people are logged onto the system. Other systems are fine.
I have tried deleting the active tree view and the Pop up menu object activex, then if i go to CCM, the activex download will take about 2 minutes to come up. I think there might be a communication problem. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling TCP/IP, removing and rejoining PC from domain and changing switch port to no avail.

Thank you

Any resolution on this? We have one client PC here that uses NT and is experiencing the same thing. All other PCs (mostly XP) run fine.

We have nowhere near 500 users.

Thanks.

Try disabling the second nic on your SWC app server if it has one. Causes lag problems.
