Hi Buddys

I am really confused of how the Clock controller works in meridian. I am facing a major problem since last 4 days.

I have a Meridian Option 11c connected to the Central office (ATT)
via 2 T1 DTI loops on teh meridian on TMDI cards(On CAS).

The meridian is again connected to another meridian through ISDN TIE (2MB PRI) across another country.

The meridian is taking primary and secondary reference from the PRI loops. It was working fine.

Now for last four days what is happening is I am getting errors on my DTI loops SLIPR values is constantly increasing when i do a lcnt and after a certain time the LOOP is disabled for say 10 secs and then again automatically enabled.

As far as my PRI LOOPS they are runnign perfect with out any errors.

I called up the service provider they say they can see verything fine till my CSU

And since i have 2 Lines both connected via 2 different cables and 2 different CSUs i cannot suspect them also.

What could be the problem. Can some one make me undersand the concept of the Timing with the Meridian ????

I would be so greatful if you poeple help me in this regard. I am working for a call centre and when the LOOP is disables all the calls are disconnected. This is effecting me a lot.

Thank u
manoj

Let me put the Question the other way.
I am tracking the PRI LOOPS (PRIVATE TIE) now

Is there any way to track the TMDI cards on which my T1 DTI is terminated. I could not find any method to do that.
In ld 73 i can set up SYSTI for only PRI loops

But my T1 line from ATT is DTI on CAS

Then how do i be in SYNC with the ATT network

Can u poeple please advice me on this regard.

In LD 60 - Type
SSCK 0

let us know what it says

Also, post a print out from LD 73

Req: Prt
Type: DDB

Then, let us know what loop is your tie to the meridian 1 and which loops are to AT&T

The clock controller card in responsible for deriving the clock off of the designated primary or secondary source (there isn't always a secondary) and keeping the system clock for pcm in sync with it. Since those two facilties are not taking errors they more than likely are not the source of your problem.

Since your tie pri is not one of these sources than it is running in "free run". The other end needs to derive their clock from that facility. If I had to guess I would say that the far end changed their clocking when your problem started.

I have on rare occasions seen both ends free run and not have problems. The only way that will happen is if the clocks on each end were almost perfectly running at the same frequency.

You should not clock off of your tie. The rule of thumb is to derive clock from the ld carrier. They are usually running on a Stratum 2 clock. The lower the Stratum clock number means that it is derived from a source closer to an atomic clock. ex. Stratum 1 is a source from an atomic clock. Stratum 2 is derived from a Stratum 1, 3 from 2, etc.

Hope that helps.

SSCK 0 gives :

ME MERIDIAN IS OPTION 11C
I CANNOT FIND THE CLOCK CONTROLLER OPTION IN DDB. IS IT BECAUSE THE CC IS ALREADY ASSIGNED IN TYPE:pRI2 FEAT:SYTI
??????. CAN I USE THE CLOCKIGN SOURCE AS THE TMDI DTI SOURCE INSTEAD OF THE 2MB PRI CARDS????
PLEASE LEMME KNWO ASAP

dear friends you poeple are great

At last i haev solved the problem
I removed the Trackign from the PRI2 loops.

And redefined the DDB with TMDI Clock locked to the controller

Now i am able to track the ATT network
No errors
You poeple are really cooperative

THREE CHEERS TO THE GROUP
