We need to see the rest of your code, but if you are using a preload image script, you can just place it at the end of that. Also, albeit quirkily, you can you the onload event of the body message. In IE you can alter the innerHTML of the container you keep your images in, otherwise you can hide and show a layer that says loading. jared@aauser.com
I am working on a similar problem! Only I can't use CSS to solve it.
How do I get the script(s) to wait until ALL the images are fully loaded before the slideshow begins?
I have been exploring 'image.complete' but can't get the logic right - how do I construct a loop that will simply wait until the images are loaded??? Is a loop the way to do it?
Ben, yeah, that would work but how do I set up a loop which will continue until the array is full? It would have to just keep rechecking and checking and checking... if it's a slow modem might be a while.
Do you know of a working example I could study, perhaps?
P.s. that is one messed up page, you try following that link, the page locks up and cannot be closed without ctrl alt del, and I lost a download trying, thanks a pant load (Chet)
-Ben. "Alright whatever man, I'll hook up the hair, but I aint touchin the ring...Cause I'm still a pla--yer"
