I have installed a few Panasonic analog cordless phones on my SLI ports. My customers don't want to pay the high price for the proprietary NEC cordless multiline phones so I just install the cheaper consumer type phones. But the flash timers on the phones are not compatible, so the users cannot use the HOLD or TRANSFER features. The Panasonic phones interpret the FLASH as a disconnect.
The Panasonic SLTs do have an option to change the FLASH timer, but the options are 700ms & 900ms. The specs for the NEC are between 105ms & 640ms, but it has to be below 540ms I am told. I am trying to see if anyone knows what model of cordless analog SLT I could use that would allow me to program the timer to match these specs so I can use Hold and Transfer.
I know that tweaking the flash timers on the NEC is a manufacturer level program only, but I have been told repeatedly that you should not change the flash timers on the analog ports or the InMail will be affected negatively.
Just want to hear some feedback on that.
Thank you.
