We have a SL2100 with POTS lines and now I am trying to convert the SL2100 to SIP Trunks. I have added the SIP Trunk (IP based authentication) and added other routing for that SIP Trunk but all I get is a Busy tone when calling in. Any tips or things I should double check on? I see the calls going to the NEC with Wireshark.

You have to direct the phone number to an extension in form 22

Don,

THANK YOU very prompt response! - I'm not sure if this is the same thing but I have setup 22-11 (DID Translation Table) to the target extension I would like it to go. however the 22-11-01 received number is only the last 4 of the DID only allows for 8 characters.

I am semi-new to NEC PBX units

If you put in the last 4 it should be ok. Can you make outbound calls?

How many digits is your provider looking for?

They are sending and looking for the full 10 digit DID phone number

I have not tested to call outbound using the SIP Trunk yet

22-09-01 set to 8 (max digits) for the trunk group. I recall some other step with reference to p-preferred identify header, I'll check my notes.

daddybadger,

Thank you for your reply. Still no luck do my best to research and see what I can do. I feel like its going to be just one small change that is being overlooked :-( Thank you all for tips to review!

A suggestion was made to have the SIP Trunk provider only provide the last 4 of the DID .. wasn't sure how that would help, but I am newer to NEC so idk.

Did you set all modes in form 22-02 to DID?
Make sure sip alg is disabled in the fire wall

in 22-02 on the Trunk for the SIP are all set to DID

sip alg is disabled/not an option on this firewall

The first test should be to see if the calls are actually being accepted by the system. Set the lines to normal instead of DID and put an extension in the ring group and see if the call is accepted. Normal is a catch all setting so that will tell you if you are having problems with the number translation or the call actually being accepted.

OzzieGeorge,
I switched these to normal instead of DID - I still get a busy tone when calling - if I cut off the SIP Trunk Providers access I just get dead air and it hangs up

CoralTech,
I am not sur what you mean by config - there are 20ish phones and they work with the current POTS lines. I am only trying to add and replace these with SIP Trunk(s)

Thank you all for suggestions, I am still trying just not sure what else to review and try.
