SL1100 used for years with modem and no issue for remote database changes. Upgraded KSU from 1.5 to 7.2. Typically I call into the office and receptionist transfers to 740, modem answers and it's good, but slow. Now we get a busy signal. Manuals say I need to forward an extension to 740 but I have never done that. First system with this late version of software. Maybe needs a reboot?

Why don't you connect it to the network and setup port forwarding? Analog remote is very tedious, slow and unreliable.

There is no LAN and the modem has been quite reliable for a number of locations. All of the sudden we get a busy. We will have to try a reboot.

I was aalways under the impression you cant transfer to the built in modem 740 is a service code. If you set trunk type to dil for mode 8 and the destination as 740 that should work. Ive had issues in the past trying to connect to the analog modem via sip trunks.

I think the newest version of the software, as per the security advisory that it was created as a response to, might not allow modem access from external trunks.

Teepee you are probably right. I have to find the advisory on that and how to fix it. I forwarded an extension to 740, still get a busy signal. I dial 740 and get a busy. The system was on 1.5 for years with no issue.

ntac confirms modem access is restricted by caller id. which means the interconnect's phone number has to be in a speed dial bin and then redirected to the service code. so that will have to be tested.
