I USE BACKUP EXEC 8.6 FOR WIN 2000/NT SERVER (INCLUDES EXCHANGE SERVER AGENT). WHENEVER I BACK UP I ALWAYS GET ITEMS THAT ARE "IN USE" & THEREFORE ARE "SKIPPED" THIS LEAVES THE BACK UP AS "FAILED". HAS ANYONE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS, IF SO CAN THIS BE FIXED.

You can purchase the Open File Agent for Backup Exec to backup the open files.

If the skipped files are database files, i.e. Lotus/Domino or Oracle, etc. Veritas(Backup Exec) has Agent Options specifically designed for them as well. :)

jm565, speaking of the Lotus Agent, do you know if you can install it on BE 8.5? It looks like you need to install 8.6 to get the Lotus Agent.

fluid11,

I not 100% sure, I believe it does, but they offer a free update to their software on the web if you own it. You can the 8.6 off of the web.
