my requirement is to pass the control from one page to another page based on the prompt selection from same prompt(having different options) i have choosen.

Which Cognos products are you using?
If you're using Series 7, Powerprompts should help you do this.
If you're using ReportNet, I believe it has this type of functionality also.
If you just have IWR, the only way to accomplish this would be to build macros to manipulate the process. I'm not even sure how you would go about that though.

I've seen ReportNet and played with it a very little bit, but I do not have access to it now. Maybe griffindm or someone else here can help you with that.
