Hello all, the bird is back and has another question...

I was hoping that there was some way, (other than calling a separate movie) that I can automatically skip to the end of a movie the 2nd time it is visited...

In other words, the user goes to my site, gets a cool flash intro that ends up as a homepage/navigation point.

The user selects a page to go to that takes him (or her no sexism here but the users name is john so we can assume it is a him from now on) to another separate HTML page.

John then decides to hit the 'back' button and go back to the home page... but instead of the home page flash movie starting over at frame 1 it automatically goes to the end of the movie, and all of the nav buttons.

Ok, get the pic?... is this possible, and please be kind I have only got Flash 4...

(this only needs to happen per visit, not for subsequent viewings)

Thanks! :-V

Hmmm - this might not be how you want it to work BUT... couldn't you just open your 'plain html page' in a new window from your Flash menu? That way when they have finished with the html page and want to go back to the nav buttons, they just shut the browser window down and the buttons are already there. This might be better than them having to skip backwards every time they want to get back to the menu.

As a second alternative how about having the fancy flash introduction on one html page (say page A) and then the flash navigation animation on another page (say page B)...

So, John comes to the site and initally sees page A, which then calls page B - which links to the plain html page. When John hits the back button it takes him to page B (last in the history) thereby getting round the whole cookie thing (which if you still haven't solved since mid August is prob. more trouble than its worth)!

Anyway - I'm back off to my Smartcards....

Hmmmmm, Do things the easy way? Well, it goes against everything I stand for but Darn it, it may just work, Thanks...

Would still love to know how to do the whole cookies thing though....
